Check if psychotherapy can be the solution for you:

You experience a sense of loneliness, isolation, or social anxiety and feel that there is no way out of this situation.

You struggle with low self-esteem or excessive perfectionism, which affects your daily life and damages your relationships with others.

You lack assertiveness and you cannot establish boundaries, often finding yourself feeling bad about it.

You experience excessive sadness or unwarranted anxiety, often not related to any specific situations.

You have been through a traumatic event, which has left a mark on your life or keeps coming back in your dreams.

You suffer from a sense of helplessness, and feel like nothing good is going to happen in your life.

You have had a difficult childhood – filled with psychological or physical violence or hampered by addictions – and you feel that those experiences have a destructive impact on your current life.

You happen to have negative thoughts about yourself, the world, and people around you.

It feel that despite doing your best you are stuck or that your attempts at self-betterment are futile

You do not know any techniques to cope with recurring distress

You do not know how to manage an excess of negative emotions, such as aggression.

You’re going through a crisis in your relationship, and despite your best efforts you cannot reach any agreement with your partner.

You are not alone!

I have held sessions with a plethora of people, of different ages, in different life circumstances and with various personal problems. Many of them tried coping with their difficult situations on their own – unfortunately, usually unsuccessfully. Generally, they were embarrassed to ask for help. Sometimes they thought that their problems were not ‘serious’ enough to seek professional help. They would ignore their situation for years and it would exacerbate over time: it hindered their entire life, ruined relationships with others, resulted in job, health, or family loss.

Sometimes those coming to see me consider psychotherapy the last resort. If you’re also under the impression that nothing and nobody can help you, you should know one thing – it is never too late to ask for help. Many of my clients changed their relationships with their close ones for the better, achieved their goals and made dreams come true; they’ve improved many aspects of their life thanks to psychotherapy.

In some cases, even a brief period of therapy allowed them to change their entire life, which used to be hindered by problems, such as intrusive thoughts. Thanks to therapy they learned to understand themselves and manage their emotions and thoughts. Today, they form warm relationships, cultivating self-love.

Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy

It is one of the most effective therapies in the world. Research shows that it yields extremely positive results for even up to 75% of people who have attended sessions regularly.

In cognitive-behavioural therapy you are the driving force and I, the therapist, am just an active participant in your discovery of your own needs and desires. You set the therapy objectives and then, with my assistance, attempt to meet them. My task is to conduct a motivating dialogue and discover what may hold you back and prevent you from moving forward.

Much like a steering wheel in a car, I just help to steer you in the right direction. I select techniques designed to help you cope with your problems better and more effectively. You are the driver – you decide when you want to accelerate, when to brake and change the gears.

We focus on the ‘here and now’

You are assigned tasks to do at home

We work on your beliefs

We focus on change and self-awareness

With my support:

You will learn to understand yourself better

You will understand the causes of your behaviours or reactions. You can also learn to identify the source of certain thoughts or emotions in your head.

You will get familiar with tools to manage emotions and thoughts

Remember, no one is born with this ability – you need to learn to manage emotions and thoughts. It is worth the effort to have an ‘easier’ life and accept yourself going forward.

You will improve your relationships with others

You will begin to better understand your loved ones and other people. You will learn to talk about your feelings and needs and resolve conflicts in a constructive way.

You will improve your mental well-being

You will get rid of an overpowering sense of helplessness, inexplicable sadness, unfounded fears, or constant irritability.

You will change your physical well-being

Your quality of sleep and appetite will improve, and the feeling of weakness will vanish; you will overcome various afflictions associated with temporary withdrawal from addictive substances.

You will learn to set boundaries and be assertive

Setting boundaries is the key to maintaining healthy relationships with others, but most importantly with yourself. It means gaining greater self-respect and a higher sense of self-worth.

You will accomplish your objectives and dreams

Even if right now they seem unattainable, or you haven’t got them at all. I will help you find meaning in your life again, even if you cannot see it today.

How does it work?

01.

You book the first visit.

During your first session I will ask you what brings you to me, what you are struggling with, and what goals you want to achieve through psychotherapy. I will also ask you a series of questions about your current situation and your past, including your experience with various forms of mental treatment, if any. Before your appointment, I will give you questionnaires and a contract to fill in. I will also explain what our subsequent meetings will entail if you decide to continue.

02.

We meet every week or fortnight.

The techniques chosen and tasks given will be tailored to your individual needs at every step of the therapy. In our sessions, I offer unconditional acceptance, full understanding, and a warm atmosphere.

03.

You can make follow-up appointments after completing your therapy.

If necessary, you can make an appointment with me at any time after you’ve completed your therapy.
